Yoga is the practice of staying awake to life, of making clear informed decisions that best support your own body, and of understanding the impermanence of it all. In this training, Lauren and Amber hope to share this life-changing practice that has brought them home to body and soul time and time again. They’ll present the information they’ve learned on their own path of living a life of both student and teacher. They’lll share with you all they know to empower you to be the best teacher you can be. With the assumption that we are all teachers in some regard, our mission is to provide a welcoming and uplifting environment for dedicated yoga practitioners to uncover their authentic wisdom and deliver well-sequenced yoga instruction with intelligent alignment and soulful connection. With two experienced lead teachers, you will receive the highest quality of attention, instruction, and support. Upon completion, you will be eligible for registration with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-200 level and fully prepared to step into the role of teacher with confidence.

Teach Every Body With Confidence

We learn by practicing. At the core of this training is the strong belief that the need for ample live teaching opportunities and constructive feedback to bolster your confidence and guide your progress in developing your teaching presence is of utmost importance. Experience teaching in individualized, small group, and whole group settings from start to finish. Enhance your voice with energy and passion to convey your teachings in a way that resonates with students’ bodies and souls. Understand how to see your students through the lens of the chakras and subtle body. Learn to approach and guide your students utilizing engaging demonstrations, precise verbal cueing, and safe, effective hands-on assists. Adapt your regular instruction to meet the needs of diverse populations including: prenatal and postnatal yoga, trauma-conscious yoga, the elderly, people with limited mobility. Learn to teach on all ends of the spectrum, from a sweaty strong class to restorative yoga.

A Community You Can Count On

Immerse yourself as a student and teacher of the practice as a means to derive strength from the relationships and accountability with others in the community. Through compassionate connection, you will feel seen, heard, and valued as integral parts to the whole training. Live instruction will occur over the course of five weekends. Between sessions, learning will continue online through Facebook groups, conference calls, reading and reflective assignments. Each weekend is a full and robust training composed of asana, pranayama, meditation, intention setting, anatomy, philosophy and practice teaching.

The Art Of Yoga

The posture is only the beginning. While we associate yoga with physical postures in the western world, asana serves as a mere starting point along the path to living your yoga. Extract meaning from the yoga sutras and integrate this knowledge in the modern world. Discover ways to weave the sacred into your everyday practice through ceremonial rituals, pranayama, meditation, and reflection. Begin to see your life as a unique masterpiece-in-progress and how yoga can serve as an artistic medium through which you can breathe your vision to life.

A Fresh Take On Anatomy

Explore anatomy and physiology of the human body in a relevant and functional way. Internalize principles of alignment within the scope of your practice so you may teach students with precision. Learn the most common ailments and injuries your students will present with, and how to effectively help them manage their pain on the yoga mat.

Meet Your Instructors

Lauren is a 500-hour certified instructor and completed Jason Crandell’s 300-hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in San Francisco.  She has brought into her own teaching Jason’s method of sharing complicated concepts in a way that is relatable and understandable. She loves making hard things seem simple, which is her measure of true understanding of any concept. 

She has also spent many years studying with Elena Brower. Elena keeps Lauren connected to the soul of yoga through her beautiful interpretation of the practice.  Both Amber and Lauren have also studied with Judith Lasater (also known as the “Queen of Restorative Yoga”), and bring her restorative yoga expertise into this training.

Lauren’s unique teaching style of a combination of teaching a physically relevant concept while still providing her students with a sacred and moving yoga experience is something she hopes to share with her trainees.  There are a few secret ingredients that she has discovered throughout the last decade of what it takes to lead a class through a potent and powerful practice. All will be revealed during training. 

Her approach to teaching foundations level yoga teachers consists of five main areas of focus: 

  •  Sequencing that appears to unfold effortlessly yet has intelligence, curriculum, and intention supporting it.

  • A basic understanding of how the human body wants to move mechanically, and how a modern yoga practice can support rather than detract from this.

  • Knowledge about common injures and ailments to better help students reduce or remove pain that presents during practice.

  • How to weave the ancient teachings of yoga through a class in a way that feels relevant to modern life.

  • The importance of a personal practice and consistent studentship as the foundation of teaching yoga.
